Quilts were meant for sharing.
I've been noodling about quilts. Women who make them. Women who need them. Quilts, especially those that are handcrafted, are really just a giant hug for anyone who wraps one around herself.
Perhaps by stitching quilts, we’re comforting ourselves, too, because the whole concept of what has happened in
I'd like to do a "quilt drive", for lack of a better term, and get quilts to the women, children, men (we don’t discriminate here) in
I’ve been talking to my friend, Rebecca. I know many of you follow her blog. Rebecca returned home from
When I presented the idea of sending stacks and stacks handcrafted quilts to
So. Without further ado…let’s Quilt
Rebecca is planning a trip back to
If you’d like to be involved, simply leave a comment here. Please be sure to include your email address, so I can contact you with the details.
I am so excited about this! And I hope you are, too. I’m working on getting a blog button uploaded (thanks to my pal Monica for giving of her creative and technical talents). I’m having my own technical issues, but as soon as I get it together, I’ll have buttons for you all to put on your blogs. In the meantime, don’t be shy, spread the word. What the world needs now, is quilts, love, and more quilts. And more love.
Send quilts. Send love. Pass it on.
This is a great idea Tammy. I am taking Rebecca's list of needed supplies to my quilting group tomorrow night so I will take along a copy of your blog as well. Please send me the details!

This is a great idea Ms. Tammy! I'll see what I can do. Not a great quilter so it might have to be something I already have. I'll let you know. I also emailed my local quilt shop to see if they would be interested.

Thanx Tammy! I have been looking for a 'quilt Haiti' space. There are some ladies in Nantucket that are doing fabric for Haiti. The ladies there are expert quilters but they won't be doing it for a while. Maybe your friend can check on that too when she is in Haiti? After the quilts maybe we could organize something like Iraqi Bundles of Love where we sent kits to the quilters there. Whatever. This is a fabulous idea you ladies had. Let me know the whats and whens.
